Thanks for the Sprite!

Did you ever have one of those moments where you instantly knew you should have brought your camera? I had one of those this past Friday. April's parents were in town from Tuesday until early Monday morning. They were here mainly to see the kiddo (and maybe us?) so they didn't have a lot that they wanted to do. One of the things they did want to do was go see Pike Place Market.

So I got off work early and we took the ferry over to Seattle and walked to the market. That was our first time to go to and we found out that place is pretty cool. Expensive, but cool. Well this whole time on the ferry and walking, Faith has been extremely fussy and had a not so good attitude. I thoought maybe it had to do with no nap and the grandparent spoiling process setting in. So it seemed. We stopped to eat lunch at this corner pizza/deli place that had amazing paninis. I could write a whole other blog about that and the pizza but then you would see my true fat kid nature, so I won't. We sit down and April is holding Faith and she is being super fussy (Faith not April). I thought we were gonna have to go have a father/daughter bathroom chat. Well, Pawpaw steps in and buys the kid a Sprite and this immediately calms her down.

April held Faith while we started eating because: a. she loves me and b. she is much more skilled and patient at those kinda things than daddy is. (thanks April!) I get done stuffing my face with pizza and I take the kid from her so she can at least finish eating in peace. I decided that I was going to take Faith and walk around the store part of the deli to keep her entertained. The plan was to hand her to April and I was going to get up and take her back. Well, as I am handing her over to mama, she gets almost into mama's arms and then it happened. Faith vomited ALL over the front ot April. I was shocked! That was until she did it again as I was holding her there...in front of April. Faith hadn't eaten a lot but she had consumed a bit of milk on the ferry ride over. Needless to say, it STANK!!!!!! April was covered in it along with part of the stroller and the floor. Who knew a small girl could hold so much stuff inside? So the nice people at the place bring us rags and we clean up as good as we can. Well, it was mostly cleaning April up. Then we find a restroom so April can wash up a bit more. Turns out in the magical hippy land of Seattle they don't care too much for paper towels and don't stock them in the restrooms. April was not a happy camper. The Lord was probably looking in my best interests when we decided not to take the camera. Unhappy wife = bad time to take pictures. We stayed and had a good time though. Is my wife a trooper or what? Faith was much happier after that and the only bad part was that I had to sit next to some smelly lady on the ferry ride back. ;)

By the time we got on the ferry I was happy I Was wearing two layer I took my top shirt off and just wore my thermal shirt underneath....if it wasn't for that I might have been vomiting too. :) Its funny now, it wasn't so much at the time!

Oh my dear April.... I had a similar thing happen to me once. I will tell you about it another time. I can't believe you didn't go shopping. You are such an awesome lady!

WOW... THAT was hilarious! Dan and I got in some great giggling today!! Thank you! I am also surprised you didn't buy a new shirt! But, I guess that was because you had an undershirt... what a blessing. I love how Tommy tells the story, Dan and I loved it. I *hate* vomit... so very very gross. Poor little Faith! I hope she feels better now.

Oh no! She is a trooper! Ick! Thank goodness for layers, April! I know you usually take a change of clothes for your kid, but maybe you need to take one for mommy now too? :) I hope other than that you enjoyed the market. I love that place, if only to walk through it. I always got like 10 of those little flavored honey sticks for a $1 when I went there. Thanks for letting Tommy share the story, April. :)
