Taking The Tag!

There was an open tag on Jenny's blog, so I thought I would join in on the fun. Here are my answers. 

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags - Always wrapping paper for Christmas

2. Real tree or artificial - We have a little artificial one but after going over the Brownings recently I would love a real one they smell so good.

3. When do you put up the tree - As soon as Tommy will let me usually thanksgiving evening or day after

4. When do you take the tree down - As late as Tommy will let me usually 1st week of January sometime except the time Tommy was out to sea and not coming home until February so we could have Christmas when he came home

5. Do you like egg nog - No not really at all

6. Favorite gift recieved as a child - My uncle always gave us these glass bottles of bubble bath...he couldn't give us much but I counted on it and remember loving getting a blue glass bottle with bubble bath and I just love that memory

7. Hardest person the buy for - My father in law

8. Easiest person to buy for - Tommy and Faith

9. Do you have a nativity scene - No...I always loved my moms it was white porcelain and so elegant looking..she got it from home interiors years and years ago and I just love it I wish I could find one like it....

10. Mail or email Christmas cards - Mail usually but just haven't gotten around to taking a photo

11. Worst Christmas gift ever - Received?? Hmmm.... I dunno  

12. Favorite Christmas movie -White Christmas or Holiday Inn

13. When do you start your christmas shopping - after thanksgivin..I should start earlier but i JUST DONT

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present - Yes. A few times.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas - my family always did mexican on christmas eve and on christmas day we did steak and shrimp scampi and all kinds of goodies

16. Lights on the tree - Yes. I always do white lights but tommy wanted me to add some color for faith so I added red lights and I love it.....i did white red and green this year b/c I use to do blue silver and white...but wanted to change more traditional now that I have a child to share the holiday with....even though truly none of it is really important.

17. Favorite Christmas song - I love Carol of the Bells but I also love o come all ye Faithful

18. Travel at Christmas or stay at home - usually we go to Tx and we enjoy it but this year I am so excited to be home with my church family and there is just something special about being able to spend it with your husband and child or children.

19. Can you name all of Santas reindeer- Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet Cupid, Donder, Blitzen, Rudolph

20. Angel on the tree or star -Neither...I also have  a pet peeve about angels but I really love to put a bow on top I just like the idea that eerything on the tree under the tree and around the tree is a gift from God and the bow reminds me of that...I use to just put the bow b/c I thought it was pretty now.....I dunno I was just thinking about it one year and now when I look at my bow on top I am reminded of Gods abundant blessings to me and my family.

21. Open presents Christmas eve or Christmas- We open one gift Christmas eve and it is always our christmas jammies....we put them on and the rest are opened on Christmas morning...I guess my mom liked having us be in our new p.j.'s when she took pictures christmas morning...so we carry on the tradition

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year - THe fact that no one will say MERRY CHRISTMAS........holidays can be any time of the year and can be happy but Christmas a day celebrating Jesus' birth one time a year

23. Favorite ornament theme color - use to be blue and silver now traditional red and green

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner - any one surrounded by people you love

25. What do you want for Christmas this year - new knives and pots and pans or family pass to point defiance zoo and aquarium

26. Who is most likely to respond to this - Hmmm. Dont know!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooohhhhh... I like your idea about the new pots and pans!! I am getting to where I need some larger ones for my family. Good job on knowing the reindeer. We love your tradition idea... I told Dan about it (well, I guess many have that tradition)... and we want to implement it with our children, about the new PJ's on Christmas Eve. I love that you like to leave it up! It is sad every year to take it down, huh? Loved reading your answers!!
