A great NEW Year!

What a great way to start the New Year. Jaxson Thomas was born on December 31 @ 5:04pm. Just in time for the tax break :) and just in time to welcome in a new year. What a great end to 2009 and a great beginning of 2010. On Dec.31 I had to go in as they wanted to induce me, because I had a touch of high blood pressure. They were worried that if I waited longer it would turn into Pre-eclampsia so I went in last Thursday at 8am. I was monitored for 4hours before they did anything. I was having regular contractions 5 minutes apart on my own, but little Jaxson had not dropped yet. If he had dropped they would just break my water and let me do everything on my own from there. Since he was not dropped they put me on pitocin (which I prayed hard that if God would allow I would not have to do). They started me at about 11:30 on pitocin at 1mL and hour and by 2pm I was up to 4 mL/hour -which is really minimal. I was having contractions about 3 minutes apart at this point. None of these contractions were particularly painful and we were actually playing phase ten. I called my mom frustrated b/c my water had not broke yet ( I was 5 cm), and as soon as I got off the phone with her - what do you know my water broke!!! After that they let me go off the pitocin and I labored from 2:30 on with no other drugs. Yes, I made it through another labor with no pain meds. Barely! :) I was asking for them at the end but Tommy reminded me that I am almost done and that I didn't want them....haha....it is always the last hour I start saying "I can't do this!" But I did and we made it through and the result was a beautiful baby boy. He has the cord wrapped around his neck and so at first has some bruising a little blue in his face but that disappeared within 24 hours. When my water breaks the rest of my labor has been fast and furious so I am glad the docs helped get things going and believe this was God's plan and timing for our little Jaxson! He is doing great. Sleeping good and eating like a champ! I am so blessed to have start the New Year off with this blessing and gift from God! Tommy was a wonderful coach and so was my mother in law and Amanda Savage. I am blessed with great family, friends, and children. I am so thankful for all I have and looking forward to the adventures this new year with 2 kiddos!
